West Bengal: Ethanol and other projects to come up in Malda district

During a North Bengal Business meeting, Manabendra Mandal, the General Manager of the District Industrial Center (DIC), announced these projects, which are expected to create job opportunities for over 6,000 individuals. Among these units, ethanol and poly textile industries stand out as major projects, alongside others including cement, wall putty, carpet, jute mill, steel, and plastic production units. Additionally, during the previous financial year, 142 industrial units were set up in Malda, with investments totaling Rs 641 crore 17 lakh and contributing to the creation of 4,224 jobs across various sectors such as jute mills, rice mills, atta mills, starch production, steel, and plastic manufacturing.
