Feb 2, 2024
The food ministry announced a monthly sugar quota of 22 lakh tonnes (LMT) for February 2024, marking a 1 LMT increase compared to February 2023 (21 LMT). In the preceding month of January 2024, the allocated sugar quota for domestic sales was 23 LMT.
Market experts anticipate a positive impact on the domestic market, expecting a rise of 10 to 20 Rs per quintal, as the February quota is set at 22 LMT. This adjustment is seen as a stabilizing factor, countering previous months’ negative sentiments.
