Sugar Quota
- August 2024 quota: 22 LMT for 573 mills.
- Lower than August 2023: 25.5 LMT (includes additional 2 LMT).
- July 2024 quota extended: Valid till August 15, 2024.
Government Measures
- Penalties for violations: Quota reduced for around 160 mills for violating stockholding limits.
- Mandatory packaging: Sugar mills are directed to pack 20% of sugar in jute bags.
