SAF boost: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurates first pilot project making aviation turbine fuel from alcohol

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated the first pilot project for producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from alcohol. The project, located at Praj Industries Ltd’s Research and Development unit near Pune, aims to address the growing demand for biofuel in the international market. Puri highlighted India’s significant role in the production of bio turbine fuel and commended the technicians at Praj for their accomplishment. The project, ahead of Brazil, is expected to become a flagship initiative globally. In the past year, a flight from Pune to Delhi successfully used aviation fuel derived from alcohol.
